Oh my goodness I love this so much. My favorite part is the way the addressee and the narrator shift and crisscross with each letter, so lovely to follow the thread. Also, this sea cow will always swoon for manatees!!!💜
MB, over the years you have taught me (or tried to teach me) how to better weave a good story. Yet, in this collaboration, there is no intentional weaving and somehow it works.
Thank you Mary Beth. We're letting our writing evolve together, so we don't quite know how the final piece will turn out. Personally, I'm very pleased by the way these pieces knit together and, as you say, 'crisscross' with each other.
I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading our work. Another post is being got ready for July!
Bee, your depiction of how a million droplets of water shower a kitchen, bioacoustics and the weaving threads found in the first letter are magical. I am in the moment with the reminder, "We all leave our marks. Some visible, some hidden beneath surfaces we cannot reach." And in my reading feel the love of companionship, gone, but certainly not forgotten.
Thanks, Stacy. Julia’s mention of a cave painting set me on this route, reminding me of Alfie’s wet impression on our stone flagged floor. It felt good to let the words lead the way, in a short piece to boot - always a challenge. But this was a joy.
I just woke up to find my notifications miraculously have healed themselves. AND this is posted on two more pages. I love how the fun will keep going over the next week or so of this post going live on everyone’s page.
Truly wonderful. And now after the conversations taking place I kind of want to think of it as like floating down the river. Each new surprise right around the next bend.
Such an honor to be included in this writing collective! Thanks for your vision, Bee, and for guiding us step-by-step as we begin our journey together.
Thanks for bringing us together Bee! There is a sense of adventure in what we are embarking upon, no idea where it will take us but far beyond the realms that any of us might travel to alone.

Me too!! Proud sea cow. Also I love elephants which are relatives of the manatee. Coincidence? I think not.

Beautiful, ladies. Just beautiful.
Yay the other Amanda is here. Thanks for reading. Glad to see you over here. 😀
Thanks, Amanda. We're riding on the clouds at the moment.
Thank you, Amanda.

Indeed! And I’m going to be sharing quotes from it on notes for the next couple of weeks too - we all should, it’s wonderful isn’t it.

Yay!

It's a delight to be part of the 'Lay it on the Line' collective, and to engage in this conversation, Bee.
